• GAS-DRILLING EDUCATION & ACTION. BRSC's gas-drilling task force needs you to help bring accountability to this process and make sure that if drilling happens, that our families, communities and environment are protected. Help us organize a major public forum to bring reliable, critical information from experts and activists from NY and other states to a large venue in Binghamton. Join our email list http://groups.google.com/group/marcellusgasinfo
• BUILDING LOCAL FOOD SYSTEMS. Come join us to work on localizing our food and making nutritious food more accessible. Planned activities include a film series, a food buying club, and a food coop.
• SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE AT BCC, November 14-15. Work on bringing speakers, planning workshops, outreach publicity and logistics.
• LOCATING THE BINGHAMTON REGIONAL SUSTAINABILITY CENTER. Help create a community meeting space to model sustainability and center this work.
We can do even more with your help, and we need volunteers with virtually every skill, especially organizing skills such as fundraising, logistics, outreach and publicity.
Future projects could include green jobs, alternative transportation and energy, green building & renovation, zero waste, and more, but it all depends on you.

We are working to become a regional information clearinghouse to promote new and existing efforts, a source for sustainability training and education, a center for networking and coordination and an advocacy group that builds community support for public policies that further our mission.
Mission Statement: The Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition (BRSC) is a grassroots, democratically-run organization, dedicated to increasing civic participation through education and collaboration to achieve enduring social, environmental and economic well-being.
